Cutest little house in London

I think Im in love with a house in London. Its the kind of place that I would have dreamt about as a kid.. it has a really old staircase, leading up three floors with a loft at the top that has windows you can open on the roof. The lady that showed it to us was such a character too, a free spirit and really sweet. Cosi and I were talking later and it gave me inspiration to write a story about it. So I am in love with the house, but there is no happy ending.. its too expensive for us. Such a shame as the people were so lovely.. and they were going to get a cat.. real selling point for me.

Day 4 Another day another adventure...

Today I got my hair done and was a model at Wella, I love the cut and colour, it's super cool and it was free which is the best part. Also today, went to a job agency and then did some (lots of) shopping. We are about to go see a flat, in Battersea so just around the corner from where we are staying. Its not too cold here which is good, its been a bit windy and rainy though and it gets dark at 3pm.. getting used to it now! Love london...

Day 2 in London

So following on from yesterdays post- the theme of hope and a brighter day continues.. yesterday we arrived in London after hardly any sleep on a 14 hr flight where a small child whinged and whined for about 13.5 of those hrs.. we went about our day and soldiered on. We started with Lunch with Riese (my big sister) at whole foods in South Kensington, then went to Oxford st, Regent st, Carnaby st and Piccadilly circus. Then we perused the National Gallery at Trafalgar sq.. we ended up going back to Riese's and were asleep by 7.. woke up at 3:49am and thankfully went back to sleep till 7- total of 12hrs sleep I was refreshed and ready for a big day.

Today we started off with a cooked breakfast and then headed off to Southbank to see the eye, big ben and westminster its amazing it has been a whole year since we were here last everything is so familiar.. After this we went to visit Buckingham palace.. not the most exciting thing but hey another sight to see! We then went off to Portobello rd in Notting hill and I bought a cute little dress for 15 quid. The vintage market is really cool, I have decided I want a fur coat. We went to S&M for dinner, love this place especially cos it has gluten free sausages for Cosi. After this we went to topshop which was mayhem and I refrained from unnecessary spending. We then went home and I am now trying to do a uni assignment on modernism which is due on Monday! Im procrastinating as per usual..

Introduction..

I have decided to start a blog. This was something inspired from the movie Julie and Julia. For those that don't know, the story is based on a real life girl who turns 30 and realises she is not happy with her life, and that cooking is her real passion and decides to do a blog where she documents making all the dishes from a Julia Childs cookbook in 365 days.

Yes I have pretty much told you the whole plot of a movie and your probably wondering what this has to do with life, love or London but there are a few important things I took away from it.

Firstly, what struck me is how much the girl reminded me of myself, and so many girls I know. There seems to be a number of us unsure of what direction we should go in and what career path to take. Then there are pressures of marriage and the biological clock ticking away.. but ultimately we want our careers first.

If only we knew which one we wanted, and I mean REALLY wanted.

Also there is a lot to be said about people who never finish things- all the be it the obvious, things should be completed so you can move on and I totally agree with this. But what happens if you think you are interested in something, spend time studying it only to find you have lost all interest and motivation, should you keep going with it or should you let go and start something else?

This is something that I have struggled with over the years and I know Im not the only one. I also know that you can be anything you want if you set your mind to it. and that is what keeps us going. The knowledge that if you want something bad enough, you can achieve it. It doesn’t matter when or what age you are, you can always stop what you are doing and take a different direction- if you believe it. We are not in a world where we have to stay in the one job for our whole lives.

Another thing about this movie was the relationships, it showed couples who are not perfect but stick by each other and love each other especially Julies boyfriend who stepped aside to allow her to follow her dreams even though he complains she is a dreamer (sounds familiar) and no matter what they always had each other.

I saw a quote today 'Its not how good you are, its how good you want to be'. So I guess it is hope that I have been thinking about; hope for a better future, a better life and for dreams coming true..
